Padre South Hotel On The Beach South Padre Island, South Padre Island

The hotel has a prime location right by the beach, but the rooms were not up to par, lacking cleanliness and plagued by insect issues. Despite this, they were comfortable, although noise disturbances disrupted my sleep until early morning hours.

I couldn't have asked for a better location with a bar nearby and a pool open till midnight. The room, resembling a condominium with a full kitchenette set, was a bit damp but overall comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Staying at this hotel was a mix of highs and lows for me. On the positive side, the room I booked came with a kitchen and a nice view, which was a definite plus. However, the lack of ceiling fans made it uncomfortably hot, and the placement of the AC unit was less than ideal, dripping cold water onto the balcony. The service was good overall, with a particularly helpful and friendly older gentleman assisting me during check-in and providing me with great restaurant recommendations. The hotel's location was fantastic, allowing me to fall asleep to the serene sounds of the waves under the moonlight. The breakfast experience left much to be desired as the options were limited and below average. Overall, I found the stay to be a good value for money considering the amenities offered, but there were definitely areas that could be improved upon.
